Modern Logo Design Aesthetics
The art of logo design has come a long way since it’s early days. Back then it used to be adapted for hand painted signs and hand crated printing blocks. However, now logos are designed with digital adaptations in mind and almost surface in the world can now be considered as a background for the logo.
Hence, when it comes to contemporary logo design, the material upon which the logo is to be imprinted becomes highly important. Also, how the logo is to be imprinted is also important. Hence, logos made for woven lables are going to be different from logos made for digital-only adaptations. These are again going to differ from logos that meant to have real life 3D implementations like the Rolls Royce Angel or the Mercedes Benz 3-Armed star.
However, through all these technical changes, the basic idea of a logo is still the same — create something instantly recognizable and associative for the brand that conveys the persona of the brand as accurately as possible. Simplicity is key in most cases, because logos have to have to be adapted to various sizes but the depth of the design should never be simplistic.
